Alan Shearer is the latest famous face to pledge to the Football League’s Enjoy the Match initiative. The League are encouraging fans to sign up and help remove bad language and violent behaviour from the family areas of all 72 league clubs.

Newcastle extend buyout deadline to Barry Moat

Newcastle United have extended the deadline for an offer from Tyneside businessman Barry Moat, although they have not said just how long they are prepared to wait.
