Some surprising news this morning: Kenny Jackett resigned as Millwall manager.
The Lions had a very up and down season: a thirteen game unbeaten streak saw them in a playoff place at the end of November, but their FA Cup run coincided with a very poor run of form (six wins in their last 26 games) that meant that Millwall only finished two points above the relegation zone at the end of the season. Only Ipswich scored fewer goals in the Championship last season: Chris Wood’s decision to join Leicester rather than Millwall obviously had an affect on the Lions.
In some unsurprising news this morning, Dean Saunders was sacked as Wolves’ manager after four months in charge. Wolves were relegated on Saturday after a tame 2-0 loss at Brighton.
I’ll be back tomorrow evening with the Official Playoff Preview.
